Our Clay Workshops
At Your Place
Our clay classes have been popular with clay enthusiasts travelling from Yass, Canberra and the surrounds.
The classes will be presented at your place by Helen with step by step instructions and techniques on how to achieve the results that you are looking for, in your own personalised pottery designs.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to select the day and time of the class to suit you .
Helen is available weekdays and weekends with classes starting at 10am or 1pm for three hours, with a minimum of 4 attendees.
Everything is supplied to create your own pottery pieces.
Each class is aimed at both beginners as well as more experienced potters, with a focus on having time to relax and enjoy the making processes of pottery. Your pieces will be left at your place to dry and then collected a few days later to be fired by Helen to bisque and then glazed with your choice of glaze from a selected range. The pieces will be available to collect from Yass approximately 3-4 weeks after the class.
All classes are held at your place. They run for three hours including a half hour break.
You choose which workshop you would like to host. There are currently two classes as described below.
The area Helen is able to present local workshops from Yass to Murrumbateman. These classes are a lot of fun and a wonderful way to catch up with family, friends and colleagues or to introduce new people.
Cost: $150 per person min 5 people, maximum of 8

Yass Visual Art Society Clay Classes for 2024
We have 3 new Clay Classes booked in Yass for the Yass Visual Arts Society to be held in the Anglican Hall in town.
These classes are available for you to attend by booking through the Eventbrite booking page
The dates are as follows
Saturday 1st June Two Bowls Work Shop
Saturday 3rd August Tea Bowl Work Shop
Saturday 7th September Two Bowls Work Shop
There are limited spots available, be sure to book in as soon as you can.
In this three hour workshop you will have the opportunity to make your own tea bowl set, comprising of two cups, a jug and two small dishes.
You will have a choice of glazes and the results always showcase your individual taste and style.
If you are new to pottery or an old hand, you will love the pieces you can make in this class.
TEA BOWL WORKSHOP
In this three hour work shop you will learn the basics of coil building to create your own small and large bowl, a spoon rest and a spoon.
The techniques of this practice will create a beautiful setting on its own or can be matching pieces for the tea bowl sets.
Your own style will shine through in the making of bowls in this very personalised class
