This wide tea cup is thrown on the wheel and shaped with an open, generous form that sits comfortably in the hands.
The broader lip allows the tea to cool slightly and open, softening each sip and enhancing aroma. The form feels grounded yet light - balanced in proportion and quietly refined.
Choose between a gently rounded thumb rest or a flatter, more minimal form - each offering a different tactile experience while maintaining the balance of the cup.
Crafted on our buff clay and finished in your choice of glaze, it’s a piece that elevates the simple ritual of making tea.
Four glazes are available, deep brown Temmoku with warm rust tones, subtle and soft Ash and earthy Moss with an olive glossy glaze. We also have our Snow glaze available for these cups.
Each cup is finished inside with our satin Temmoku glaze, except Snow which has the same glaze inside and out.
Hand thrown on the pottery wheel, fired and then glazed and fired again for a long lasting finish.
Each cup is approximately 100m high with an 100mm rim diameter
Holding a capacity of approximately 360ml
The cups are food safe and dishwasher proof although we do recommend hand washing to care for the glaze.
We create functional stoneware pottery and local handmade ceramics in our pottery studio in NSW, where each piece is designed for everyday use and lasting beauty.
The pieces will have subtle differences. Sizes are approximate due to the nature of hand made pottery.
